Allu Arjum get engaged today in Hyderabad

The most eligible bachelor of the Tollywood, Allu Arjun is all set to lose his bachelorhood by next year. After the revelation of the friendship bond between Allu Arjun and Sneha Reddy, both the families had agreed to unite them.
Sneha Reddy is the daughter of Shankar Reddy, who owns several engineering colleges in state and the director of Scient Engineering College. She had recently completed her B.Tech and left for US to pursue her MS degree. Both the families had agreed to perform the marriage after the completion of the shooting and post-production formalities of ‘Badrinath’, the forthcoming flick of Allu Arjun.
However, an engagement was planned in November. Now, the D-Day has come and both of Arjun and Sneha getting engaged on November 26. The function would be a purely private affair and is being held in a very simple manner and the family members of both the families are going to meet and complete the formalities.
When contacted, Allu Arjun says, ‘I thought of inviting all my friends and well-wishers from the film industry and the media. In the absence of enough time and a proper venue, we have decided to hold the ceremony as a complete family affair.’ The marriage is expected to take place in February 2011.

After hogging enough and more media limelight, Venkat Prabhu’s Mankatha is finally going on floors on October 25. Chennai will host the movie’s first schedule with scenes involving Ajith and Premji Amaran to be shot at that time. Cloud Nine Pictures' Naan Mahaan Alla released in theatres to a fantastic opening in Tamil Nadu. Karthi, with three hits to his name, is a household name in the state. So it was no surprise when NMA got such an opening in Chennai. What was interesting to note is the fact that there were a huge amount of Ajith fans to watch the movie. Yes, it was earlier announced that the trailer of Ajith's 50th movie Mankatha, also by Cloud Nine Pictures, will be released in all theatres which screen NMA. So there was a mad rush in city theatres to watch the movie... and of course to watch the trailer. It was evident that the audiences in the theatres were waiting with bated breath to catch a glimpse of their favorite star. Fans went berserk when they saw the trailer of Mankatha during the interval. And to the disappointment of many, Ajith uttered just one word in the trailer and it was not heard in the commotion.

If Ajith's fans in the city were ecstatic after seeing the trailer, it was the opposite for those who were eager to watch the teaser in Mayajaal. Usually full on weekends, Mayajaal witnessed an unprecedented number of fans to watch movies today. But fans were disappointed when the much-awaited teaser was not shown. The Common Wealth Games’ theme song, which was set to tune by Oscar winner AR Rahman, has been titled Swagatham. Speaking at the press conference about this song, the Mozart of Madras said, “When you hear the song you feel like India is calling you. I want the crowd to sing along. We have put in a lot of hard work and we are all very excited to turn it into a memorable experience. I am still working on it and am curious to know how older, intelligent people, who have years of wisdom, will react to it.”
The song is sung by AR Rahman along with other singers. It is predominantly in Hindi with some words in English. The musician said that the song has been approved by the group of ministers. He added that Swagatham is dedicated to the father of the nation Mahatma Gandhi.

It may be recalled that a couple of days ago Venkat Prabhu was finalized to direct Ajith in this film. The movie is to be produced by Cloud Nine Movies. Having made her presence felt with the strong performance in Arundathi, the actress went on to share the screen space with Suriya in Singam. Both these films have turned out to be smash hits. She also featured with Vijay in Vettaikaran.

Trisha was asked about the differences between Bollywood and Kollywood, as she had worked in both the industries. The actress said that though there is not much of a difference, one thing she noticed was the films’ promos. She revealed that her Bollywood counterparts are very good at promos and resort to extensive measures to have their film promoted. Trisha stated that in Bollywood, when a film is complete, the crew makes immense plans to have it promoted so that it reaches every nook and corner. She adds that parties, reality shows, dance shows on TV and press meets are some of ways they use to promote a film.

The actress also pointed out that in Kollywood, every film is kept under wraps with the crew not disclosing anything about the film. This generates curiosity among the movie buffs and if the film does not meet their expectations it turns out to be flop.

Yuvan Shankar Raja is the music director of the Karthi-starrer Naan Mahaan Alla. The musician has completed major part of work for the film barring a few. Composing and rerecording is on in full swing and Yuvan’s job is expected to be done in a few days’ time. Once Yuvan completes his work, the music launch date of NMA will be announced, sources say. In all probability, the film will hit the screens sometime in July, if things move on the right pace, we are told.

Cloud Nine’s proposed latest announcement will mark an end to the rumors surrounding Ajith’s 50th movie. The production company that owns Ajith’s call sheets is on the verge of producing a movie, to be directed by Venkat Prabhu. Set in the backdrop of Mumbai’s Dharavi slums, this movie has been titled Mangatha.

On the other hand, Cloud Nine also owns the call sheet of Gautham Menon. Although there’s no clarity about the earlier speculated Gautham Menon–Ajith venture, looks like a Gautham–Cloud Nine production is in the cards.

The last hurrah of the summer vacations is here. During the last weekend of the two-month long celebration for school students, comes Suriya’s twenty-fifth film, Singam arrives. Well, there has been a buzz around this film ever since it was announced a few months back. The obvious reason for that being the star cast of the film. Suriya’s red hot run at the box office has made each of his films enter theaters with more and more expectations tagged to them each time round. Add to that the fact that the film is being directed by Hari, the rural action specialist, Singam automatically became one of the biggest draws of the summer.

So, what is Singam all about? Anyone who has watched TV over the past one week will have a fair idea of what to expect from the movie. Suriya appearing as a cop for the first time since Kaakka Kaakka is the USP of Singam. Everyone will be eager to see whether Suriya is able to reprise the same glory that he garnered with the portrayal of Anbuchelvan, IPS. This time round, he will be playing Duraisingam. And, from the look of it, Duraisingam

will be a totally different cop from Anbuchelvan. If  Anbuchelvan was the quiet, but lethal cop who believed more in getting the job done rather than talking too much, Duraisingam seems to be the daringly outspoken type who lets his adversaries know what they are up against. There have been a few parallels drawn against Duraisingam and the unforgettable Aarusamy, played by Vikram in Saamy.

Hari’s penchant for action is well known. All his films basically belong to the action genre and he has surprisingly delivered good products each time without deviating too much from a path that has become a bit predictable. Only his last film, Seval, was a bit of a disappointment and he will be looking forward to erase those memories by delivering a huge hit in Singam. And, may it be third time lucky for the Hari-Suriya combination. It is not that their two earlier films, Aaru and Vel have done badly at the box office. But, this pair is still waiting for their first big hit.

On the other aspects of the film, Vivek makes an appearance in a Hari film for the first time since Saamy, where he had rocked. It has been surprising that Hari took such a long time getting back to Vivek, but he has kept delivering some good comedy with Vadivelu in all his films. The comedy track of Singam will be even more hilarious than that of Saamy, claimed Vivek during the audio launch. Let’s wait and see. Anushka is one of the big draws of Singam. Her presence in Kollywood seems to be growing by the day. One big project after the other has been following her and let’s see where Singam takes her.

Devi Sri Prasad’s music has hit the right note with the audiences and Sun Pictures has taken care that everyone in Tamil Nadu knows about the film. The promos at first did create quite a flutter with Suriya uttering one of the loudest and most bombastic dialogues of his career. And, there also seems to be plenty of high adrenalin action. Come Friday, the Singam will roar.
