Word on Mani Ratnam's next

Jun 20, 2011 Ponniyin Selvan that was scheduled to have been directed by Mani Ratnam may have been a non-starter but that has not deterred the legendary filmmaker, who is all set to begin work on a fresh project. It has been confirmed that Arya and Karthik's son, Gautam will be the male leads. There was some confusion over this, as friends and well-wishers of Arya felt that he was doing too many multi-starrers and he should concentrate on solo hero projects. But since this is the great Mani Ratnam in question, Arya agreed and has put all speculations to rest. Now if they would only announce the heroines!

Shriya denies catfight

Jun 20, 2011 Recently, there were a few stories doing the rounds that Shriya and Sonakshi Sinha do not get along. The two divas were seen at the CCL and it was reported that they were going out of their way to avoid each other. Some gossip mongers went as far as to say that Sonakshi tried to sabotage Shriya's dance performance and Shriya retaliated by snubbing her. Shriya responded to these stories and said they were absolutely baseless. Apparently she and Sonakshi got along just fine. Shriya says that Sonakshi was very sweet to her and she has no idea where these works of fiction crop up from. Looks like in this case, there was smoke without a fire!

Trisha in demand

Having reached the top in the Tamil and Telugu film industries and made her Bollywood debut opposite Akshay Kumar, she is all set to do a Kannada film with Dharshan. But that is not all, the Bhojpuri film industry is wooing her big time, hoping to get her to sign on the dotted line for a few of their films. South Indian heroines are no strangers to this industry as stars like Nagma and Rambha have rocked in a few Bhojpuri films. Trisha was flattered we hear, but not too keen to commit, as she is very busy with other projects. She wants to strengthen her position in the South, and then conquer Bollywood as well.

Jiiva and Mysskin to team up!

Jun 20, 2011 Jiiva is on a roll and there in no stopping him. Ko has enhanced his star status considerably and he has filmmakers queuing up to sign him on for their projects. But Jiiva is not one to grab everything that comes his way and he is waiting for the right scripts. When Mysskin approached him with a project he has dreamed of making for a long time, Jiiva was floored and agreed at once. The film will be called Mugamoodi and it is going to be a superhero flick, the first of its kind in Tamil Nadu. A Mumbai based production house has agreed to bankroll this mega venture, so it is time for Jiiva and Mysskin to rock and roll!

The new combo in K-town - Gautham, Jiiva & AR Rahman!

Jun 20, 2011 Gautham Menon’s next Tamil project will be with Jiiva. Pairing up with him will be Samantha. The director has decided to direct an action-romance flick and has found Jiiva to be the most suitable for this. This venture will go on floors once Gautham is done with the Hindi version of Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya. Manoj Pramahamsa may wield the camera for this venture. Gautham has decided to retain Rajeevan (art director) and Anthony (editing). The icing on the cake for this venture is AR Rahman. The Oscar winner has been roped in to score the music for this flick.
