The song has been shot in Chennai with the help of Poda Podi director Vignesh Shivan and Vettai Mannan director Nelson. Cinematographer Shakthi has cranked the camera to film this video.

Dhanush on co-starring with Rajini

Dhanush was recently asked if there is opportunity for him and his father-in-law Rajinikanth to work together. To this, the National Award winning star replied that it is up to the Superstar to decide. Adding further, he said that he will be glad to share the screen space with him as he is one of ardent fans.
Dhanush said that he will not miss a chance to work with the Superstar as it is every star’s desire to share the screen space with him. From what Dhanush has said, there is a hope that this might happen one day.

Kazhugu ready to take off

Kazhugu is a comedy-thriller from newbie Sathyasiva starring Krishna Shekar and Bindu Madhavi in the lead roles. Karunas, Thambi Ramaiah and Praveen will be seen in important roles in Kazhugu. This film is due to hit the screens on January 26^th, 2012. The post production work is on at full swing to stick to the target date. Music has been scored by Yuvan Shankar Raja. Editing has been done by Praveen K. L. and N. B. Srikanth.
It is worth mentioning here that this Kazhugu will be completely different from the Rajinikanth starrer Kazhugu that was released a couple of decades ago

Vetri Maaran signs up Siddharth

Vetri Maaran is to produce a film that will be directed by one of his assistants. The director is also likely to pen the dialogues for this film, say sources. There are reports that Boys fame Siddharth has been signed up to play the male lead in this yet-to-be-titled film.
The other cast and crew are on the verge of being finalized, we are told. This film is expected to commence in April 2012.

Rift between Yuvan and Vishnuvardhan?

There are reports that Yuvan Shankar Raja and Vishnuvardhan have parted ways and that the music director will not team up with Vishnu for the Ajith starrer. When Vishnu was asked about this, he clarified that it is strange that such rumors are doing rounds.
The director wondered if such rumors are being spread by mischief makers who couldn’t tolerate the success that he and Yuvan produce together. Vishnuvardhan reiterated that it is Yuvan who will be scoring the music for the Ajith starrer and the composing will begin once the script writing is done.

Aishwarya Dhanush confirms

The audio launch of 3 will happen on December 23^rd, 2011 confirms Aishwarya Dhanush, the director of the film. The debut director says that she is planning a very different audio launch for the film.

3’s songs are most expected because the single track – Why this Kolaveri Di – has turned out to be huge hit. Therefore the expectations on the rest of the songs are very high. Anirudh is making his debut as music director in 3.

The film stars Dhanush and Shruti Haasan in the lead roles.

Will Hrithik do it for Dhanush?

Dhanush is going all out to fulfill his dream of becoming a director. Apparently it is his intention to make a larger than life fantasy film. The script is ready and Dhanush is keen on having Hrithik Roshan play the protagonist. Hrithik besides being one of the best looking men in the country has also established himself as a very versatile actor. Besides he has also dappled successfully in the fantasy genre with films like Koi Mil Gaya and Krish.

Shortly on the heels of Aishwarya Dhanush's announcement that the audio of 3 will be launched on December 23rd, there have been reports that the music release of Nanban will also be on December 23rd and will happen at Harris Jeyaraj's On the Edge Concert in Coimbatore with the musician performing some of the tracks live.

Kolaveri di is already a phenomenon and this has created huge expectations for the rest of the album. On the other hands Nanban is one of the most eagerly awaited films of all time and people are expecting magic from the Shankar - Harris Jeyaraj combination. HOW JIIVA BECAME MYSSKIN’S SUPERHERO?

The official puja and launch of Mysskin’s ambitious project Mugamoodi was held last morning at the auditorium of the Santhome school in Chennai. You might wonder why the auditorium of a school was chosen for the launch of a movie. It is because the first shots of the movie were also canned at the same premises. Mugamoodi, as you might already be aware, is a film to be directed by Mysskin having Jiiva and Narain in the lead roles. It is believed to be one of the first genuine superhero movies in Tamil cinema. Speaking at the function, Mysskin said that this movie was a long time cherished desire of his. His childhood hobby was reading a lot of superhero comics like the Phantom, Mandrake and many others. When he became a film maker, he wanted to do such a movie. Now, that dream has taken off, it is his childhood fantasy coming true. He also added that producer UTV Dhananjayan was equally excited about doing a superhero movie in Tamil and said that he expected nothing less than a super hit from the team. Mysskin, while talking about the casting said that while developing the script for the movie the first face that came to his mind was that of Jiiva. He immediately called the actor and gave him a synopsis of the plot. Jiiva surprised Mysskin by arriving at his office within 10 minutes of the phone call. It was at this moment that Mysskin almost finalized his hero. But, the bigger surprise was still to come, Mysskin said. He asked Jiiva to undergo 6 months rigorous kung-fu training for the film and Jiiva replied that he had been learning the martial art for more than 6 years now. That left no doubt in Mysskin’s mind that he had chosen the right person. Speaking about Narain, Mysskin said that all that was required was a phone call from him for Narain to accept the role without any questions. Narain had said that there was no way he could turn down an offer from Mysskin. That Narain was readily available for the role of lead antagonist when his career as hero was taking off in a big way in Malayalam and Tamil was testimony of his commitment towards cinema, Mysskin said. Talking about his heroine, Mysskin said that Pooja Hegde, a newcomer was chosen only after extensive screen tests which she had passed with flying colours. Mugamoodi is set to have music by K, who did the BGM for Yudham Sei. And, about the scene that was canned on the first day; it was that of a huge martial arts class. There were around 2000 junior artistes dressed in authentic kung fu attire for the scene. The first day’s shots of the movie proved that it was going to be a grand affair. Mysskin finished by saying that if Jiiva was able to provide bulk dates, about 90 days, then the film would be shot at one stretch and be ready for release by mid of 2012. Aamir Khan for Nanban audio launch

Makers of Nanban, Hindi remake of 3 Idiots adapted from the best selling Chetan Bhagat book, are trying to bring Aamir Khan and director Rajkumar Hirani for the audio launch event. The event, scheduled to be held on the 14th of December in Nehru Stadium, Chennai is expected to be in a grandiose manner. Although there is no official consent from Khan or Hirani, producers of Nanban are trying to persuade them to come over to boost the film's publicity. After the audio launch, the movie will hit the screens on January 14, according to sources.

MAYAKKAM ENNA MOVIE REVIEW

Starring: Dhanush, Richa Gangopadhyay Direction: Selvaraghavan Music: G.V. Prakash Kumar Production: Gemini Film Circuit Depicting the multi-layers of human relationships and its ramifications comes very naturally to Selvaraghavan and when he has a National Award Winner for histrionics as brother to translate his vision onto the big canvas, what more can one ask for? The combo has proved themselves in the past and reiterates the theory in Mayakkam Enna too. Mayakkam Enna is about a man who rediscovers himself in the journey of life and the crucial role of a woman in it. The premise remains Selva’s comfort zone and the director has played it with aplomb. Firstly Selvaraghavan should be lauded for taking on a fairly bold subject and not bowing down to any commercial element in the form of inane comedy or such unnecessary detour. It needs immense courage and conviction and hats off Selva! And to weave a story about normal people and to tunnel into the innermost recesses of a tortured soul is a child’s play for him and he has reveled in it. Dhanush’s biggest advantage is, the moment he appears on screen, you immediately invest your emotions with him and start caring for him (character) unmindful of its color. And in Selva’s films, it definitely goes a few notches high. The scene where he expresses his anger, irritation and edginess to his friend on being rejected by the ace photographer is just one small sample of this malleable actor’s prowess and Mayakkam Enna is sated with such performances. Richa Gangopadhyay- Is she a debutante? Hard to believe! She is the perfect foil for Dhanush. Mayakkam Enna’s finest moments belong to the scene where Richa reveals her impotent anger at Dhanush on losing her baby. There is not a single dialogue in this powerful scene and you only have Richa’s emotive actions and GV’s music. It’s surely a masterpiece that would make your eyes go moist. It is not an exaggerated statement to say that G V Prakash’s RR is exceedingly brilliant bringing out the finer feelings so beautifully and Selva has utilized GV’s music alone to convey his thoughts instead of dialogues in many sequences. After Ilayaraja’s RR, it is GV’s RR that is going to be well spoken for a long time. And of course, Oda Oda and Adida Avlai are situational and hence enjoyable. Selva’s narration is also aided well by the lyrically inclined work of lensman Ramji and the frames are a poem by themselves. When the protagonist is a wildlife photographer, there is always an additional advantage and Ramji delivers the best. Kola Bhaskar’s editing enhances the brilliance of the film. Richa’s character in the first half is likely to be misunderstood as someone very frivolous but the second half has made her highly respectful and strong and her characterization is sure to find patrons in women audience. On the downside, Mayakkam Enna is very languorously narrated with a lazy rhythm which may not go well with the mainstream audience. The characters of an attention seeking or a weak hero and a strong heroine may be viewed as Selvaraghavan’s clichés. To sum it all, Mayakkam Enna is emotionally rich and is an inebriating experience by itself. Verdict: Mayakkam Enna grows on you

Mankatha's release date confirmed

Aug 23, 2011 There is huge news for Ajith fans. Mankatha release date has been confirmed for August 31st. Ajith's 50th film is all set to make a big splash at the end of this month. Ayngaran International are releasing the film overseas and they have confirmed the date of its international release. The makers of the film are very confident about the film because the movie has been getting excellent publicity from the day the project was announced. Social networks like Facebook and Twitter proved to be instrumental as every nugget of information about the film has been lapped up by Ajith's devoted fans. The wait has ended and the game will begin soon after it has been cleared by the censors.

Ajith has no speed limit

Aug 13, 2011 For the vaunted bike sequences in Mankatha, Ajith used a bike that was acquired in Singapore. It is a special bike with a truly powerful engine which Ajith enjoyed driving full speed on the open road. His average speed on it was about 190 kms/ hr. When the cinematographer Sakthi Saravanan expressed his amazement over the speed Ajith drove at, Thala only laughed. Ajith admitted that the bike could actually go much faster but as per the legal rules a lock had been put on the mechanism curtailing its speed levels. Otherwise Ajith said he would have easily managed to more than 220 kms/hr.

Suriya turns 36 today! The star was born on July 23, 1975 in Chennai to actor Siva Kumar and Lakshmi. Suriya entered the film industry with Nerukku Ner in which he shared the screen space with Vijay in 1997. After a few years, he went on to play the second hero in Friends, once again with Vijay taking up the lead role. The star’s break came in Nandha, a critically acclaimed film from Bala and since then Suriya has had some enviable roles which upped his star status. Pithamagan, Kaakkha Kaakkha, Ghajini, Ayan, Aadhavan, Singam, Raktha Charithra are just a few examples that show Suriya's versatility. It is interesting to note that Suriya is one of the top stars in Kollywood that most Bollywood actresses want to share the screen space with. Starring: Vikram, Anushka, Amala Paul, Santhanam, Direction: AL VijayMusic: G V Prakash KumarProduction: UTV Motion Pictures “Simpler a thing is, nobler it is”, said the legendary Sathyajith Ray. He would have reiterated his stance now had he watched Krishna (Vikram) in Deiva Thirumagal. What would you call someone who is an embodiment of all things good, simple and virtuous but appears in the eyes of blemished materialistic world as aberrated? A Deiva Thirumagan, indeed! DT is a poetical tale of love and affection between a dad and his 5 year old daughter who is the raison d’être of his life. He may be a mentally challenged person to the world but he is after all her dad. Director Vijay’s caliber as an effective raconteur keeps escalating in every film of his and DT is the latest example. His matured handling of the script and his characters are just testimony to this. It is endearing to watch this tale unravel itself in a very charming and touching fashion. There are no villains in DT but all the characters are driven by the goodness exuded by its lead Vikram. One of the first frames, where Krishna helps the pickpocket guy sums up his characterization. The subsequent shots of him abiding the traffic signal, wanting to stick to truth only and helping a hatchling to its nest lucidly spells forth his character. In a way, it is Vikram all the way… What can you say about this actor whose sincerity and talents that are not already known? It is not Vikram you see but it is Krishna and a dad wanting to be with his daughter suffering the pangs of separation. He has done the tightrope walking of playing a mentally challenged person to the hilt. A little sway on any one side would have worked detrimental to him as an actor and the film. The seasoned actor that he is has given a brilliant performance. Anushka looks ravishing and as a struggling lawyer gets her act right wanting to bring justice to her client. Santhanam’s comedy gels along with the story line and brings in enjoyable lighter moments. Nasser as the intelligent and cunning senior advocate Bhashyam is apt and delivers a veteran’s performance. However it is baby Sara who steals the show next only to Vikram in her angelic looks and performance. There is a serene look about her which helps the role majorly and her understanding of her dad and playing to his inadequacies warrant accolades. Amala Paul has a small role and delivers it right. The supporting casts of Y Gee Mahendra, Sachin Khedekar, Karthik Kumar, Krishna Kumar, Surekha, M R Kishore and Priya have also essayed their roles quite effectively. . Setting the right kind of mood through his camera work has been cinematographer Nirav Shah’s forte which he has adhered to in DT. Nirav has had a field day in Vizhigalil Oru Vaanavil number which is aesthetics at its best. Anushka’s expressions in this sequence and the oblivious Vikram behind her on the bike are a revelation. The sleek and discreet editing helps the proceeding in a big way. G V Prakash’s scores are already chartbusters and each track adds significant value to the film. Ore oru oorukkula number is sure to be children’s favorite Dialogues like “Vakil kitayum doctor kittayum poi pesa koodathu, aana vakillum doctorum poi pesalam” and ‘Saamikku amma kedayaada’ are noteworthy. There are quite a scenes that tug at your heart’s strings and almost all of them happen between the dad and the daughter, the cream being the one between them in the court room towards the end and that on the first day of Sara’s school where the duo communicate with each other in sign language. On the flip side a few scenes involving M S Bhaskar and the helper don’t add value to the progress of the film. However considering the overwhelming positive feeling that the film evokes in its entirety, these foibles can be forgiven. After a long while, DT gives the satisfaction of watching a film without cringing in your seats or worrying how it would appeal to the young population. In short Deiva Thirumagal is a well nuanced film that will appeal to everyone who has their heart and feelings in the right place. Verdict: An emotional tale between a father and a daughter well told

Rajini and Dhanush family unite under one roof

Jul 16, 2011 Superstar is back in Chennai and he is making a big move. He will be staying in Venus colony at Sri Niketan apartments. An entire floor has been purchased for his use. Dhanush and his family will also be staying with him. This move is because there is some work being done in his house at Poes garden. Rajini has been spending a lot of time with grandsons Yatra and Linga. Their company apparently is the best medicine for him and most likely to restore him to his former strength. So the family will be staying together and bonding big time till Superstar gets back to work on Rana.

Rana will begin in October

Jul 15, 2011 Soon after his arrival, all Rajini fans are eager to know when Rana would take off. Sources close to Rajinikanth say that Rana will commence in October and until then the Superstar will take rest at his Kelambakkam farm house. Only very close friends and dignitiaries will be allowed to meet Rajini as he needs complete rest for the next couple of months in order to get ready for Rana. It is said that he will hold discussions with director KS Ravi Kumar at this farm house. Rana is a historic flick and a major portion of it will be shot in foreign countries.

Billa 2 shooting underway! Jul 15, 2011 Finally, Billa 2 shooting commenced at the Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad yesterday. Cameraman Ravi K Chandran confirmed that he met Billa 2’s director of photography RD Rajashekar at the film city when the shooting was in progress. The film’s lead star Ajith, producer Suresh Balaji and director Chakri Toleti among others were at the Film City. Ravi K Chandran added that the film is being shot on the RED EPIC camera, as announced earlier. Billa 2 has two heroines Huma Qureshi and Bruna Abdullah. Prabhu and Rahman who played important roles in Billa are also a part of this flick.

Trisha did it only for Ajith

Trisha, in a recent interview to a Tamil magazine, has said that she agreed to star in Mankatha only because the film had Ajith playing the lead. The actress said that she loved to work with Ajith and hence decided to sign the dotted lines despite her role being small. Trisha made it clear that her role in Mankatha will not be as significant as it was in Vinnaithaandi Varuvaya or Manmadhan Ambu but still she did it for Ajith. On Ajith’s cooking at the Mankatha sets, Trisha said that he is a wonderful cook and Shalini is lucky to have him as her husband.

Sun leaves Venghai!

Jun 21, 2011 In a sudden twist, Sun Pictures which had snapped up Hari's Venghai with Dhanush and Tamannah in the lead have backed off and are no longer associated with the project. But despite this setback, Venghai is still on schedule for a July 7th release and all is in readiness. The original producer, Bharathi Reddy will be releasing it directly and will also take care of the publicity. He is in talks with distributors to finalize things and to ensure that all goes smoothly. In the meantime, Devi Sri Prasad's music is getting talked about and all signs point to this album becoming a big hit. This is Dhanush's first release after his National award and his fans are eager to see his next offering.

Jun 20, 2011 Ponniyin Selvan that was scheduled to have been directed by Mani Ratnam may have been a non-starter but that has not deterred the legendary filmmaker, who is all set to begin work on a fresh project. It has been confirmed that Arya and Karthik's son, Gautam will be the male leads. There was some confusion over this, as friends and well-wishers of Arya felt that he was doing too many multi-starrers and he should concentrate on solo hero projects. But since this is the great Mani Ratnam in question, Arya agreed and has put all speculations to rest. Now if they would only announce the heroines!

Shriya denies catfight

Jun 20, 2011 Recently, there were a few stories doing the rounds that Shriya and Sonakshi Sinha do not get along. The two divas were seen at the CCL and it was reported that they were going out of their way to avoid each other. Some gossip mongers went as far as to say that Sonakshi tried to sabotage Shriya's dance performance and Shriya retaliated by snubbing her. Shriya responded to these stories and said they were absolutely baseless. Apparently she and Sonakshi got along just fine.
